A Cute Hossey Story

Sarah, this story is especially for you.

Each night when we go to bed, Hoss has his nylabone and donut toy to sleep with. In a previous post (Lovey Puppy In The Morning), we described how in the morning Hoss takes each toy to the living room, drops it and waits for us to come give him lots of praise.

Well, the other afternoon, Hoss picked up his donut toy on the living room floor and took it to the bedroom and then immediately turned around and raced out to the living room with the donut toy in his mouth. He dropped the donut toy on the living room floor and looked up at us with his happy Hossey face, waiting to be praised.

Of course, we made a big deal about it and gave him lots of praise and lovey puppy affection.

This shows how smart these Shiloh Shepherd dogs are! Hoss figured all this out on his own. This also shows how praise motivated he is, which is great for training and having a loving, loyal companion.

After Hoss received lots of praise for taking his donut toy to the living room on his own, he was all excited and proud, and started the racing through the house zoomies. We cracked up laughing. He loves to play!

Like Father, Like Son

Like his father Nero, Hoss likes to eat his kibbles lying down. After finishing his kibbles, he gets his mush, and either some sardines or raw chopped up chicken livers and yogurt, and then a couple raw chicken wings to munch on. Yum, yum!

We measured Hoss a couple days ago, and he is 31 inches tall.

Exploring Around His New BC Cabin

Happy Hossey in the tall grass with a stick. What more could a puppy want!
Found some nice birch tree bark to chew on.

The Hoss expression. Maybe he sees a bird in the trees, that we haven't spotted yet.

Lots of new smells to experience.

The nose leads, and the body follows.
Hossey can hardly wait until we move into his new Cabin in June!

Lovey Puppy In The Morning, and Other Cute Hoss Photos

We did this post backwards, because this program used to publish it backwards. Now it publishes it the way you put it in. Anyway, since this program won't let us copy or cut and paste, you need to start at the bottom of this post for it to make sense. Thank you.

Hoss likes to bask in the sun on his beach towel with his toys after having a bath.
What a cute puppy you are, Hoss. One ear in and one out, and chin on his pentapull toy, on the lower shelf of the coffee table. Ahhhh!

We hand him his donut toy and say 'take it to the living room' and he trots out to the living room with his donut toy. He drops his donut toy in the living room and looks up at us wagging his tail, waiting for praise. Of course, he gets lots of praise and told what a good and smart boy he is. This is part of the morning routine.

Then we call him back into the bedroom to get his donut toy.

In the morning, after lovey puppy time, we hand Hoss his bone toy and tell him to 'take it to the living room'. He trots out to the living room with it, wagging his tail all the way, drops the bone toy in the living room and looks up at us proudly waiting for praise. We give him lots of praise and hugs.

In the morning after we rise and get dressed, it is Lovey Puppy Time. Hoss goes to his big towel near the foot of our bed and lies down waiting for us to come give him loves and petting. He really enjoys lovey puppy in the morning, after we have been asleep all night.
